The Vine Program: The Ultimate Guide
The Amazon Vine program grants exclusive access to the platform’s most elite reviewers, known as Vine Voices. As a seller, you can provide free or discounted products to these influential reviewers. In return, they publish comprehensive evaluations on your product pages. But how do you access these reviewers? What products qualify and what fees apply? This guide answers those questions, including the latest fee updates, so you can decide if Vine is right for your launch.
Overview
Amazon Vine Enrollment: What Are the Requirements?
Before registering for the Amazon Vine program, brands must meet these prerequisites:
- Be a Professional Selling Partner.
- Have a registered brand in Amazon Brand Registry.
- Be identified as the brand owner.
- Have eligible FBA offers.
What Products Are Eligible?
To enroll a product in Vine, it must:
- Be Brand Registered in Amazon Brand Registry.
- Have fewer than 30 reviews on the detail page.
- Have a buyable FBA offer in “New” condition.
- Not be an adult product, digital, or heavy/bulky item.
- Be launched at the time of enrollment with available inventory.
- Include at least one image and a product description.
PRO TIP: If your item is close to 30 reviews, prioritize Vine for newer or low-review ASINs where early social proof matters most.
What Are the Vine Reviewer Standards?
Amazon vets Vine reviewers based on the quality, helpfulness, and consistency of their review history. Only reviewers who maintain trustworthy, insightful feedback remain in the program.
What Does Participation Cost?
Amazon’s current Vine enrollment fee structure (per parent ASIN) is based on the number of units provided to Vine reviewers:
- $0: Enroll up to 2 units and get up to 2 Vine reviews free.
- $75: Enroll up to 10 units and get up to 10 Vine reviews.
- $200: Enroll up to 30 units and get up to 30 Vine reviews.
Note: Fees are charged only after your first Vine review for that enrollment is published.
Fee Details
No Review, No Fee
If you enroll an item in Vine but do not receive any Vine reviews, you are not charged the standard fee. Amazon charges the participation fee only after the first Vine review for that product is published—making enrollment effectively risk-free until reviews appear.
Vine Reviewers Don’t Get Paid, Only Free Products
Vine Voices do not receive payment for reviews. Their incentive is access to selected products for free or at a discount, providing honest feedback based on actual use to help other customers.
No Review Deadlines for Vine Members
Amazon does not enforce strict deadlines for publishing Vine reviews. Reviewers can post on their own schedules; however, Amazon monitors activity and may remove privileges if participation standards aren’t met over time.
FBA and Referral Fees Still Apply to Vine Orders
Standard selling fees still apply to Vine orders. When a Vine Voice claims a free or discounted product, FBA and referral fees are charged as usual. Learn more here: FBA fee | Referral fee.
Is Amazon Vine Right for You?
Vine can accelerate early social proof, but it isn’t a blanket solution. Enrollment is limited (1–30 units per ASIN) and requires Brand Registry, eligible products, and inventory. Evaluate Vine for new launches or SKUs that need traction; pair it with strong listings, ads, and pricing strategy for best results.
Next step: Strengthen pricing and margins before you enroll. Try BQool’s AI Repricer to protect profits while you gather early reviews.

I never knew this was a thing. I do buy a lot of products from Amazon. I don’t always give reviews but I do read them a lot. I do let the reviews influence my decisions on my purchases 90 % of the time. Which brings me back to writing reviews, I guess I didn’t realize just how important a review was . Kind of an oxymoron cause I depend on reviews. I will be giving reviews now and I hope I get picked to be a vine person .
