Key enhancements in November include a simplified coupon application, a new term loan solution, advanced shipping capabilities, an ultimate brand guide, and a consumer search trends report, providing sellers with crucial insights to thrive in the evolving e-commerce marketplace.

Percentage-Off Coupons Can Now Be Applied to Up to Five Items Per Order

Nov 01, 2024

Amazon sellers now have the option to let customers apply a percentage-off coupon to up to five items within a single order. Previously, customers were limited to using one coupon per order, often leading them to make multiple purchases to save on each item. This update can decrease the number of orders you need to process, potentially reducing delivery costs.

When creating a coupon in Seller Central, choosing “No” for the “Limit redemption to one per customer” option allows your percentage-off coupon to be applied to up to five items per order. Selecting “Yes” will restrict the coupon to a single item per order.

Here are examples of how it works:

  • If a customer clips a 10% off coupon (offer price $50) and buys three of your items, they’ll be able to use the coupon on all three items for a $15 total discount ($5 off each item with the 10% coupon).
  • If a customer clips a 10% off coupon (offer price $50) and buys eight items in a single order, they’ll get 10% off the maximum of five items per order for a total discount of $25. They won’t get to use the coupon on the remaining three items in this order.

This change doesn’t apply to money-off coupons, which remain limited to one per order even when the “Limit redemption to one per customer” option is set to No. Customers can use the money-off coupon multiple times only if they make separate purchases.

To get started, go to Create a coupon.

Dangerous Goods Can Now Be Shipped in the US with Amazon Buy Shipping

Nov 13, 2024

Sellers can now use Amazon Buy Shipping to ship dangerous goods in the US with Amazon Shipping Ground and USPS Ground Advantage.

If you have a preferred shipping method besides these options, you must work directly with the carrier to ensure your shipment meets the dangerous goods requirements. As the shipper, you are responsible for ensuring any order containing dangerous goods complies with the carrier’s applicable packaging and labeling guidelines. Each carrier has unique requirements, so it’s crucial to work directly with your chosen carrier.

How does it work?

When you select the “This shipment contains dangerous goods” checkbox, Amazon will refresh shipping method eligibility to display supported carriers. If the selected service does not meet the customer delivery promise or is unavailable for your specific “ship from” and “ship to” locations, no shipping methods will be displayed.

For more information, go to Shipping dangerous goods with Amazon Buy Shipping.
