How to Start Selling on Tik Tok? (Dropshipping)

While selling on Amazon may offer lucrative opportunities, the recent increase in fees can be a significant drawback for many sellers. Consequently, merchants are actively exploring alternatives to generate income without completely abandoning the Amazon platform. In this evolving e-commerce landscape, social media platforms like TikTok have emerged as crucial players, enabling savvy sellers and influencers to capitalize on its engagement potential and supplement their income streams.

Amazon’s Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) service presents a compelling solution, allowing sellers to leverage Amazon’s robust logistics services while simultaneously reselling their products on various platforms such as Shopify, TikTok, Walmart, and others. By embracing MCF, sellers can diversify their revenue sources, tap into new markets and sales channels, and maintain a competitive edge while benefiting from Amazon’s fulfillment infrastructure. With the right strategies and a well-crafted plan, sellers can harness the power of TikTok and other platforms, broadening their reach and expanding their business beyond Amazon.

MCF by Amazon: How Does it Work?

MCF is open and easy to access. You have two primary options when it comes to utilizing Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF). Firstly, you can leverage MCF even if you are not an existing Amazon seller. In this case, you will need to send your inventory to Amazon Fulfillment Centers. Alternatively, if you are already an active Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) seller on Amazon, you do not need to subscribe to MCF separately. Amazon will utilize your existing inventory to fulfill orders placed through MCF.

For existing FBA sellers: Login to Seller Central to create an MCF order.
If you are new to Amazon: Create an account to sign up and get started.

The cost of delivery is influenced by several factors, including the numbers of units, the estimated delivery timeline, and the dimensions and weight of the goods. These variables play a crucial role in determining the final pricing for the delivery services.

Additional Fees to Consider into Your Budget

You need to keep in mind that additional fees might also occur when you use MCF, here is the list of the different additional fees:

  • Lithium batteries and items that contain lithium batteries will incur an additional $0.11 per unit to the base fulfillment fee.
  • If you block your MCF orders from being shipped by Amazon Logistics, it will result in a 5% surcharge on your MCF orders.
  • Any orders shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands will include a remote area surcharge of 100% for standard-size items and 200% for large bulky and extra-large items.
  • All non-fulfillment fees, such as storage, labeling, or fees to inbound and remove your inventory from Amazon fulfillment centers, will continue to be the same for MCF as for FBA. For more information, go to FBA features, services, and fees.
  • The surcharges for blocking Amazon Logistics or for remote area delivery are calculated after adding any applicable lithium battery fees to the item’s base fulfillment fee.

Why Should I Use MCF Integration Tools?

Integrations streamline managing orders from Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) platforms to various marketplaces. Based on research and popular opinion, we recommend using WebBee or Aftership, as they work seamlessly with both TikTok and Amazon to help manage and fulfill orders. There are diverse integration options available, with some facilitating returns handling, ad management, or inventory synchronization across your TikTok shop. Choose an integration that aligns with your specific business needs and required features. For more on MCF-compatible supply chain integrations, check this page.

How to Do Dropshipping on Tik Tok?

Another way to leverage TikTok’s potential is through dropshipping. Dropshipping enables you to generate income by using TikTok as an advertising platform for your dropshipping store. You do not need to maintain physical inventory, which cuts down on expensive maintenance costs. However, the trade-off is that you will need to drive significant traffic to your TikTok storefront. Successful dropshipping on TikTok hinges on your ability to engage your target audience and compel them to make purchases from your online dropshipping store.

How Does it Work?

While dropshipping has become a popular concept, many are still uncertain about how it works in practice. Despite influencers and sellers sharing their methods, precise details are often not mentioned. To start dropshipping with TikTok, the first step is to create a TikTok business account and link it to your dropshipping store. Then you need to promote your products by creating engaging content on your TikTok account, showcasing the items you want to sell with advertisements. When potential buyers discover your product pages, they can seamlessly navigate to your dropshipping store and complete purchases. You will collect the payment for the product along with the shipping fees. Subsequently, you will pass the order information to your supplier, who then will pack and finally ship the purchased item to the customer.

Tik Tok Reselling: A Sustainable Strategy or a Fleeting Fad?

While relying solely on Amazon for reselling may not be the most lucrative option anymore, exploring other platforms is crucial for achieving a healthier revenue balance. TikTok, with its massive and growing user base, presents an exciting opportunity for sellers to reach a wider audience. Diversifying beyond Amazon is advisable, as the adage “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” rings true in the reselling world. Sellers should capitalize on their potential by embracing multiple channels to maintain a strong foothold in the ever-evolving e-commerce landscape and avoid being too much impacted by the ruthless Amazon world.

Capitalizing on the growing e-commerce landscape is a popular strategy for sellers looking to maximize profits. With numerous options available, it is wise to take advantage of TikTok’s current potential and explore additional platforms to diversify revenue streams, rather than relying solely on Amazon. Although trends are fleeting, leveraging TikTok’s momentum while it lasts can help maximize earnings before its potential decline!
