Although the impact of social media marketing is increasing, companies and marketers still prefer the use of email for business communication on a daily bases. Emails provide a direct and personal way to get in contact with your customers along with opportunities for upselling or sale. All you need is the right content, target, and timing to make it happen.
There are tools on the market for you to send out mass emails at a relatively low cost. With these tools available, how do you maximize their effect for your marketing needs?
The point is, you could have sent thousands of emails without any of them being opened and read. To get ahead in the game, you need to start out with an appealing email subject. There are a few ways you can make your email subject line more appealing:
1. Including discounts and coupons in your subject
These kinds of email titles can get you a certain open rate but its also easy for them to be marked as spam. Targeting the right customers with the right products and discounts that are attractive enough are key factors for this strategy.
Example :
Valentine”s Day Deals: $30 For $15 at ProFlowers | Free delivery for your beloved
2. Arousing curiosity
You don’t necessarily have to mention your product in the subject line as people get tired of being bombed by sales emails daily. Having a short sentence or ending your title with a question mark are good ideas for making your email stand out. Email subjects with a conversational tone are also more likely to be read.
Examples:
You”ll never get all of this anywhere else.
Rough day?
Final Hours! Will you save 50%?
3. Put numbers in your subject line
Numbers can give off the feeling of the content being informative. A countdown can make customers feel like they are missing out on something or a limited-time deal.
Examples:
10 breathtaking beaches you would not want to miss out on!
5 hours only! 50% off ALL jeans in store!
4. Sender-receiver relation
If its possible, put your customer’s name in the subject line. This will increase the intimacy between you and the buyer.
Example:
John, you have unlocked a special coupon!
The sender’s email address is also very important. Whether it’s Hotmail or Gmail, the sender’s name is always displayed first, so having a legit sender’s address can make a difference in your email open rate.
87% of potential customers abandon their shopping cart in the US.
In the infographic, we indicated that there’s a very high rate of cart abandonment. 56% of customers leave the page before checking out because they feel like it’s not the time for making a purchase yet whether they’re still shopping around for deals, or are still uncertain they really need the item. Sending a reminder email about their abandoned cart can help retain your customer and also keep track of your customer’s interests.
