Request Amazon to Remove Negative Feedback

So you’ve received negative feedback.  Obviously, you’re not a happy camper, but hey, it happens to even the best of sellers.  It’s important to remain even-keeled through any adversity on Amazon and not overreact.  You may even detect some feedback that are in violation and request Amazon to remove them.  So when can you make a request for Amazon to remove feedback?  Under these circumstances:

Profanity on Amazon is prohibited

◆ If the feedback contains any profane or obscene language.

◆ If the feedback contains any promotional content, such as comments or external links to other merchants or links.

◆ If the feedback contains any personal information, such as an e-mail address, full name, telephone number, etc.

◆ If the entire feedback was, in fact, a product review.  The review, however, will remain if it even remotely touches on seller service.  For example, if a buyer said the book they bought from you was a poor reading, the feedback will be removed as it would be categorized as a product review.  However, if the buyer said the book was a poor reading and delivery was slow, the feedback will remain, dissolving any grounds for removal.

◆ If the transaction was through Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA).  Although the feedback will not be removed, it will not affect your overall rating, and a line attached to the feedback will explain that Amazon is responsible for this fulfillment experience, relieving you of any responsibility.

◆ If you come across any of the above scenarios, you can get in contact with Amazon to request removal of the feedback.  If you happen to encounter negative feedback that is categorized on this list, consider yourself lucky that you dodged a bullet.  Such instances are rare, so your goal should really be to have an impeccable seller feedback rating and great customer service.  A great rating allows you to shine brighter, swaying buyers who are considering whether to buy from you or from your competitors.

If the problem is caused by faulty operations, what can we do to remove the feedback?

      Hi Haley,

If you are certain the problem was caused by the buyer after he/she has received the item, you can send in photos for evidence to Amazon to request for feedback removal. It is always recommended to take pictures of your inventory if you are using FBM as buyers can sometimes take advantage of you by threatening to leave negative feedback about your product even though the problem was not caused by you during the shipment or packaging process.

More importantly, if the feedback is entirely about the product itself, you can also request to have it removed as that should be left as a product review, not seller feedback.

Hope I’ve been able to address your question!

About the order fulfilled by Amazon, what kind of feedback can be removed?

      Hi Haley,

If the order was fulfilled by Amazon, you can request for removal of the feedback if it was about the delivery or damage to the packaging or item during the shipping process. If the item or package was damaged during delivery, Amazon is the one responsible and you should not be penalized. Therefore you can send in a request for feedback removal. If the feedback is about the product, you can also have it removed as it is considered a product review, and not seller feedback.

      Happy selling!
